The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed David St. Pierre as executive director in June, 2011. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Mr. St. Pierre manages a staff of nearly 2,000 to protect the quality of Cook County’s water supply source (Lake Michigan), protect businesses and homes from flood damage, and improve the environment for an 883.6 square mile service area. Prior to joining the MWRD, Mr. St. Pierre served as the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Atlanta, Georgia Department of Watershed Management, where he was responsible for the city’s drinking water supply system and water reclamation treatment facilities. He previously served as the operations director for the Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri Sewer District, where he managed the city’s collection system and wastewater treatment facilities.
